Debbie has been teaching dance for over 38 years. In those 38 years she has seen her students go on to be professional dancers, choreographers and studio owners. Debbie’s students continually do well in the festivals and competitions they participate in and she is always so proud of them. Her choreography has won many awards at many of these festivals. Debbie believes that all children deserve the chance to perform on stage and participate in festivals and competitions no matter what their level is. As long as they are willing to practice and try hard she will give any one the chance to excel in dance! Debbie is a certified ADAPT teacher. She has also adjudicated several competitions across Alberta and B.C. As well as being a teacher and studio owner Debbie is a very proud Mom to three grown children, Brian, Nicole and Shannon and she is very proud of all of them! Debbie believes that dancing is so much more than steps, it is an art form that can be shared with anyone who will watch!
NICOLE HAWKES - Owner, Jazz, Ballet, Modern, Lyrical Director/Teacher
Nicole has been dancing since the age of 3 and has studied with several different choreographers and teachers including Miss Debbie. She has been teaching for over 11 years. Though she is qualified to teach all forms of dance her passion is Jazz and lyrical. She has taken her R.A.D. exams as well as her ADAPT exams and she continues to attend several workshops and teachers seminars to expand her knowledge of dance. Nicole also has done some adjudicating of festival and loves to share her knowledge with others. Nicole’s students continually do outstanding in all festivals and competitions that they participate in and she is always so proud of them! Nicole’s choreography has also won many awards at different festivals in Alberta and B.C. Nicole offers a young fresh view to the art of dance!
SHANNON GALENKAMP - Hip hop, Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Musical Theatre Teacher
Shannon has been dancing since she was 4 years old. She has graduated from the Central Memorial Performing Arts Program - dance division where she trained extensively in ballet and jazz as well as several other forms of dance. Shannon has participated in the ADAPT syllabus exams. Shannon has won several awards and scholarships for her dancing. Shannon has trained with several teachers and choreographers including Miss Debbie and Miss Nicole. Shannon continually attends workshops to keep up with the latest trends. Shannon offers something unique to each one of the classes she teaches. Miss Shannon’s numbers do very well in the festivals and competitions that they are involved in. Shannon's students have won numerous awards at the festivals and competitions that we attend. She has received several awards for her outstanding choreography. Shannon works amazing with our little ones. We look forward to having Miss Shannon once again as part of our faculty.This is Miss Shannon's 5th year of teaching with our students and we look forward to another great year!!
Nancy Salak- Junior Jazz, Tap Teacher and Substitute Teacher
This is Miss Nancy's 3rd year with us and we are very glad to have her back. Nancy originally trained with Debbie several years ago in all disciplines of dance. She has taken her exams in the ADAPT syllabus. We look forward to having Nancy work with our dancers! She will definitely be a positive role model for our dancers!
Kayla Verhelst- Junior and Teen Jazz and Ballet Teacher
This is Miss Kayla's 4th season with us and we are very glad to have her back. She brings fresh and exciting ideas to the studio! Miss Kayla's students do very well in her classes and did very well in the festivals we attend.
